'Windows has been Shut Down': Stop Error in Windows Vista - Computers - Data Recovery

Windows Vista may encounter certain issues related with software and hardware configuration in the operating system and BIOS respectively. When we power up the system it sends signals connected to all the hardware (known as IRQs - Interrupt Requests) during the POST (Power on Self Test) procedure. After the system control gets transferred to the operating system and in case it figures out problem, the operating system tries to repair it. However, if it is not able to repair the problem, in case of major crash Windows Vista halts or restarts the system (or shuts it down in cases like incompatible specification) and usually shows an error message related to the problem as a blue screen as:

"Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer". In the above case, we can go for two possible solutions. The first one will be to restore the BIOS defaults and uninstall any new hardware or driver installed. In most cases, it should help (we should know how to go to the BIOS, generally by pressing the Delete or F2 keys) to boot our Windows system. If the problem is due to some other problem and the system still shows the above error or a different problem occurs, we need to determine the nature of that problem. If the hardware is fine, we should go for Windows Vista Startup repair using the System Recovery options menu. In order to get to the System Recovery options screen, we need to boot the system using the Windows Vista DVD. We need to follow corrective measures to avoid data loss as if we dont have an existing updated backup, we will be left with no choice other than to go for Data Recovery Tools.

Users report different scenarios in these cases. When in one situation, we can start up the system, in other cases system may not start at all.

If system can be started, Windows Vista includes solution options. We can use Problem Reports and Solutions through Control Panel. Many of generally occurring errors are described here along with their solutions, so we can follow them and hence solve the issue. We need to be ensured that all the recent Windows updates and updated drivers are installed on our system.

However, if system is not starting up, we need to correct Windows Vista startup issues. We can use Startup Repair (as discussed above) to replace damaged or missing files that prevent Windows Vista to start correctly. We can then use System Restore to choose a restore point and start system as per the previous working state. If these attempts fail or are not feasible due to unavailability of installation disc, we need to carry out clean reinstallation of Windows Vista after backing up data.

It is recommended to check for log reports and completeness of data backup or else we may lose data. An incomplete or damaged state of backup implies that we need to use File Recovery applications. Popularly known as Data Recovery Software, these application tools are used to extract lost information in any logical case.

Data Recovery products are designed to scan the affected drive. These applications are safe and effective for practical File Recovery scenarios. With their high end features yet simple and interactive interface, we can perform recovery with ease.

Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery is the most powerful Data Recovery Software that combines rich and high end features with simplicity. This Data Recovery Tool possesses powerful scanning options and natively supports 300 popular file types related to common documents, spreadsheets, presentations, database, picture, audio, video and more file types. This file recognition feature can be further enhanced by adding header information (hex, binary) of more lost files that need to be recovered. It is compatible with FAT16, FAT32 VFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file systems. It supports Windows Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000.
